Caleb Green

Technical Director, Here & Now

Caleb Green is the technical director of NPR and WBUR's Here & Now. Working alongside the senior technical director of Here & Now, Caleb keeps the audio flowing smoothly into and out of Studio 5 at WBUR.

Before moving into the role of technical director for Here & Now, Caleb spent two years as a broadcast recording technician at WBUR. He was a utility player in the WBUR production department, providing coverage for the technical directors of Here & Now, On Point, WBUR's Radio Boston, WBUR's Morning Edition, WBUR's Weekend Edition, WBUR's All Things Considered, and WBUR CitySpace, as well as backend mixing production.

He grew up in Harvard, Massachusetts, as a go-to local live sound engineer and guitarist, focusing primarily on jazz, rock and roots music. Caleb earned his degree in Music Business and Film Scoring as a Guitar Performance principal at Berklee College of Music in Boston. While in college, he refined his trade as an audio engineer and music producer by taking a two-year apprenticeship at Plaid Dog Recording.

Prior to working at WBUR, he was a guitar teacher to students of all ages. During the summer months, he worked as a live sound engineer at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. He also operated a small multimedia studio called Tackle Room Productions where he recorded music, engineered audiobooks and scored soundtracks. He continues to perform, write and record music with his bands and on his own.

When not working on music, he can be found waist-deep in the ocean fly fishing for striped bass with his father. When not meticulously calculating his next fishing trip, he is playing with his cat Winslow, dialing a coffee recipe, cooking with his lovely girlfriend, tinkering on his car or lending a hand on fun and creative construction projects at his parent’s house.
