Leah Fleming is Executive Producer of WBUR’s Morning Edition. Her passion for local public radio journalism is what brings her to Boston. Previously she worked at Georgia Public Broadcasting in Atlanta, Georgia where she created, hosted, and served as Executive Producer of the newsmagazine Georgia in Play. Prior to that she worked as Senior Host/Producer of GPB’s Morning Edition.  Leah’s journey has included work at WLRN-Miami Herald News, in Miami Florida, where she served as a reporter and anchor before elevating to Deputy News Director.

Leah fell in love with the art of radio during a summer internship in college. Since then, she has served at public media stations including WAMC Northeast Public Radio in Albany, New York, WJCT Public Broadcasting in Jacksonville, Florida and WABE in Atlanta, Georgia. Leah has also worked at NPR in Washington, DC as a producer and mentor with NPR’s Next Generation project.

Raised in New York, she holds a Master of Science degree in communication arts. She enjoys service projects and strolling with her sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
