WBUR Welcomes New Board Members
WBUR is excited to announce the appointment of eight new board members.
- Claudia Dumond, Meghan K. Jasani, Lily Lyman, Andrew A. McElwee, Jr., and Ila Shah are the newest members of WBUR's Board of Directors,* the governing body of the station.
- Holly Fetter, Natanja Craig Oquendo and Harvey Young are the newest members of WBUR’s Community Advisory Board.**
We are grateful for their willingness to serve WBUR and the community and look forward to benefiting from their wisdom and expertise in the years ahead.
Board of Directors
Claudia Dumond joined the firm Pendal Group in January 2022 as global chief human resources officer and member of the firm's Global Executive Committee. Claudia joined Pendal from Boston Global Media Partners where she served as chief people officer and executive vice president of strategic communications and organizational design since 2018. Meghan Jasani is the chief financial and operating officer at the Community Music Center of Boston. Prior to this role, she was the principal planning manager of capabilities, strategy and planning for Vistaprint. Her bio is available here.
Lily Lyman is a general partner at Underscore VC, a Boston-based firm investing at the earliest stage in bold, B2B software founders. Lily came to Underscore VC from Facebook, where, as a growth leader, she launched products that drove 100 million new users in four years. Read her bio here.
Andrew McElwee is president and chief operating officer of Plymouth Rock. Previously, he was president and chief operating officer of Homesite Insurance Group. His bio is available here.
Ila Shah is a partner at Edgility, which helps mission driven organizations through our talent management consulting and executive recruitment. Ila plays a pivotal role in coaching, mentoring, and supporting the Talent Equity Team in their delivery of high-impact and quality services to their clients. Community Advisory Board
Holly Fetter is a vice president on the Asset Stewardship Team at State Street Global Advisors. She leads the team’s proxy voting and engagement strategy on social issues including human capital management and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read her full bio here.
Natanja Craig Oquendo is executive director of the Boston Women’s Fund. She brings an unwavering passion for community solutions, her unique lived experience, and over 20 years of nonprofit and philanthropic expertise to her work. Read her full bio here.
Harvey Young is a cultural historian whose research on the performance and experience of race has been widely published in academic journals and profiled in major newspapers and magazines. In January 2018, he became dean of the College of Fine Arts at Boston University, where he is also professor of English. Read his full bio here.
*WBUR is owned and operated by The Trustees of Boston University. Boston University has delegated authority for the oversight of WBUR operations and finances, as well as the review and approval of strategic goals, to the WBUR Board of Directors under the leadership of the Executive Committee.
Directors are selected on the basis of their individual interests, diverse perspectives, special expertise, vision and dedication to the advancement of the station.

**The Community Advisory Board (CAB), as required by federal law, reviews the programming goals established by WBUR, the service provided by WBUR, the significant policy decisions rendered by WBUR, and assesses whether the programming and other policies of the station are meeting the specialized and cultural needs of the communities served by WBUR.
The WBUR CAB is composed of Boston-area community and business leaders dedicated to supporting and advancing the mission of WBUR and its affiliated stations, while representing the different voices and faces of our community.
